What is the difference between Oriveo Free, BYOK, Pro, and Lifetime?
Oriveo Free lets you try supported models with a limited free quota routed through Oriveo. BYOK means you bring your own provider API key and pay that provider directly. Pro and Lifetime are Oriveo software entitlements for features such as cloud sync, Usage Insights, budget tools, and larger organization limits.
Does Oriveo Pro include OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or other model fees?
No. Pro and Lifetime are Oriveo software plans. They do not include third-party AI/API fees, model credits, ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, Gemini Advanced, or Relay bills. Your provider or Relay remains the final billing source for model usage.
Do I need an account to use Oriveo?
No. Guest mode works for local chat and provider setup. Sign in when you want cloud sync, subscription recovery, real Usage Insights, shared Skills, backup across devices, or account deletion from server-side records.
How do I cancel, refund, or manage a subscription?
Use the purchase channel where you paid. Web purchases are managed through the Creem billing portal from Oriveo. iOS subscriptions are managed in Apple ID subscriptions. Android subscriptions are managed in Google Play. Refund rules also follow the purchase channel, so check the Refund Policy for the right path.
Why do I still see a renewal after buying Lifetime?
Lifetime unlocks Oriveo features, but it cannot automatically cancel a still-active Apple, Google Play, or web subscription. Cancel the older subscription in the original purchase channel to stop future renewals.

Are my API keys uploaded to Oriveo servers?
Keys are stored locally on your device or browser by default. Some web BYOK, Relay, or compatibility paths may transmit the key only to complete the selected request through Oriveo routing. Oriveo does not save provider keys as account records. Backups include keys only if you choose that option and protect the export with a password.
What should I check when an API key is invalid?
Paste the key again and check for extra spaces, zero-width characters, full-width characters, expired or revoked keys, missing billing, insufficient credits, model permissions, and provider region endpoints. If the provider has separate projects or workspaces, make sure the key belongs to the one with model access.
Why is a model unavailable or returning errors?
The provider may require a higher account tier, a specific region, a funded billing account, or access approval for that model. The model may also be down, rate limited, renamed, removed, or blocked by your Relay upstream. Try another model, refresh provider metadata, and compare the error with the provider dashboard.
Why do Qwen, Kimi/Moonshot, MiniMax, or similar providers need region endpoints?
Some provider accounts and keys are bound to regional API endpoints. A key created for one region can fail validation or chat on another region. Open the provider setup page, choose the matching endpoint or region, then test the key again.
How do I troubleshoot Relay connection tests?
Check the Base URL, API key, auth mode, Relay type, transport, model ID, Responses or Codex compatibility, Anthropic x-api-key settings, web_search tool names, and whether the upstream supports image generation. A failed test usually means the simulated chat path failed; saving may still be possible if you are intentionally configuring it manually.

Why are attachment buttons hidden or certain files rejected?
Attachment support depends on both the selected model capability and the provider attachment policy. Images, PDFs, text/code files, and Office documents are handled differently, and size limits still apply. If the button is hidden, switch to a model and provider combination that supports that attachment type.
Why are Web Search, reasoning, or image generation unavailable?
These switches appear only when the selected model, provider, and transport support them. Relay endpoints must also expose compatible tool or protocol behavior. If a tool fails upstream, switch transport, choose another model, or disable the unsupported feature.
Why did Oriveo Free quota run out?
Oriveo Free has limited quota to keep the shared service stable. The app shows remaining quota and reset timing where available. When quota is used up, wait for reset, switch to your own provider key, or use another configured provider.
Why does the same prompt cost different amounts on different models?
Every provider and model has its own input, output, reasoning, image, and tool pricing. Long context, attachments, web search, generated images, and retries can all change cost. Usage Insights helps estimate this, but provider invoices remain final.

What does cloud sync store?
When enabled, cloud sync can sync conversations, messages, model outputs, reasoning text when available, folders, Skills, Memory, preferences, usage metadata, and attachment metadata through Firebase Firestore. Attachment files may upload to Firebase Cloud Storage for cross-device access. Local use still works without sync.
What does backup export include? Are API keys included?
Backups can include conversations, provider configuration, Skills, folders, preferences, and attachments depending on the export option. API keys are not included unless you explicitly choose to include them and set a password; in that case the exported key data is encrypted inside the backup.
What do New only, Merge, and Replace all mean when importing backup data?
New only adds items that do not already exist. Merge combines backup data with local data and updates matching records. Replace all clears local app data before restoring the backup, so use it only when you want the backup to become the main copy.
What happens when I delete my account?
Account deletion removes server-side account records that Oriveo controls, including subscription association, sync data, and related service records according to the Privacy Policy. Local data on a device may remain until you delete the app data or uninstall the app.
Why are synced attachments missing on another device?
The message metadata may sync before the attachment file finishes uploading, or storage quota may be full. Keep the original device online, check storage warnings, and try again later. Local chat remains usable even if a new attachment cannot upload.

What is the difference between Skills and Knowledge Base?
A Skill is a reusable instruction set with optional starter prompts and behavior. Knowledge Base adds searchable files to a Skill so the AI can retrieve relevant passages instead of reading everything every time.
Why does Knowledge Base require an official OpenAI key?
Knowledge Base uses OpenAI Vector Store and retrieval infrastructure. OpenRouter or a Relay that only mimics chat APIs is not enough for file indexing. Use an official OpenAI key and the supported endpoint, then wait for indexing to complete.
How does Memory work, and how can I turn it off?
Memory stores reusable context you choose to keep. When Memory is enabled for a conversation, relevant memory can be sent to the currently selected model provider. Do not store passwords, private keys, or identity documents in Memory. You can disable Memory per conversation or edit it in settings.
Why are Usage Insights costs estimates?
Usage Insights uses Oriveo metadata, token records, and published model prices. Relay and upstream provider invoices remain the final source of truth, and Oriveo Free does not charge your provider key. For exact billing, compare against the provider or Relay dashboard.
Why do I see demo data in Usage Insights?
Demo mode exists so you can inspect the feature before enough real usage is available or before your entitlement is active. Sign in, confirm your plan, and keep using configured providers to build real usage history.
